Meet HCE Sky Signal: weather alerts built for Hood County.
Sky Signal is the Hood County Express automated weather desk. Around the clock, it checks real-time data feeds every five minutes, straight from the National Weather Service. It also watches the Storm Prediction Center, the Weather Prediction Center, the Texas Water Development Board, local burn ban sources and FEMA.
What you'll see in your feed:
- A clear signal on every alert: TAKE ACTION (red), BE PREPARED (orange) or BE AWARE (amber).
- An ALL CLEAR when the National Weather Service cancels or ends a Take Action warning we posted.
- Storm Mode: when severe weather hits, we post warning maps, the towns in the path, and warnings headed our way from neighboring counties.
- Hyper-local weather forecasts for Granbury in our Weekend Outlook, plus Lake Granbury levels, river gauges, drought and burn ban updates, and lake health checks.
- Official emergency alerts such as boil water notices, evacuations and AMBER Alerts, plus FEMA disaster declarations for Hood County.
Every number comes from an official source, and every card is checked before it posts.
Sky Signal does not replace official NWS warnings, outdoor sirens or the emergency alerts on your phone. It puts the official information in one place, built for Hood County.
