Hood County Express has learned that former Hood County Sheriff’s Office investigator James Luckie is no longer employed by the department.
Luckie arrested Kolton Krottinger in November 2025 over a political meme. The criminal charge was later dismissed, and Luckie remains a defendant in Krottinger’s ongoing federal civil-rights lawsuit where he just a qualified immunity motion.
The reason for Luckie’s departure is being confirmed. HCE will provide updates as more information becomes available.
