Mediation in Kolton Krottinger’s federal civil rights case involving Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds, Investigator Luckie and Hood County entirely is scheduled for October 22, 2026, through the Fifth Circuit’s mediation program.
The lawsuit stems from Krottinger’s arrest over a meme. The session will give the parties an opportunity to negotiate a settlement.
This comes after Sheriff Deeds and Investigator Luckie’s qualified immunity was initially denied by the federal judge presiding over the lawsuit.
