Something doesn’t add up in Granbury.

The recall petitions had advanced into the City Charter’s recall process. The targeted officials declined to resign. Tuesday night, the City Council was preparing to take the next step toward a May recall election.

Then attorney Andy Taylor showed up.

Taylor announced that he was suing the City of Granbury, challenging the recall petitions over alleged procedural and signature problems. City Attorney Jeremy SoRelle then advised the council to stop the process of scheduling the election. FOX 4 is now reporting that it remains unclear who Taylor is working for, and no online filing identifying his client had been located as of Tuesday night.

So the Hood County Express started digging.

Who brought Andy Taylor to Granbury? Who is behind the lawsuit? Who is paying the legal bills? And why did he appear at exactly this point in the recall process?

And that’s where things start getting interesting.

Our digging is looking at old relationships, previous employers, other Texas cities, political connections, back-door introductions and longtime associations.

Here’s one little teaser:

Andy Taylor’s own law firm publicly lists former Hood County State Senator Brian Birdwell as a client.

Does that have anything to do with what’s happening in Granbury?

We don’t know.

But we’re going to find out what can actually be documented.

We’re following the names, the money, the former employers, the legal relationships and the public records.

No rumors. No guessing. Receipts.

Stay tuned to the Hood County Express.

This rabbit hole may be a whole lot deeper than anybody expected.
