π§ GRANBURY LINES UP $107 MILLION FOR DRINKING WATER UPGRADES
Granbury is receiving more than $107 million in state financial assistance to improve its drinking water system, the City of Granbury said.
On Sept. 10, the Texas Water Development Board approved $49.985 million in financing to improve the existing water treatment plant and help build a new 5-million-gallon-per-day plant.
The City expects that financing to save about $14.6 million over the life of the loan compared with conventional financing. It builds on a $57.8 million state grant awarded in October 2025.
The City says the advanced treatment upgrades will help address emerging contaminants such as PFAS.

π STATE ERROR BACKLOGS VOTER ADDRESS UPDATES BEFORE EARLY VOTING
County election officials learned Thursday about another state error that backlogged thousands of voter registration records, Votebeat and The Texas Tribune reported.
The error affected address updates submitted online. A Texas Secretary of State's Office spokesperson said 15,000 affected records were sent to counties, though not all counties were affected.
Officials have to sort out which updates were submitted by the Oct. 5 registration deadline and process them before early voting starts Monday. Voters with questions should contact their county voter registrar.

Statewide opioid settlement funds are overseen by the Texas Opioid Council. The office encouraged affected cities and counties to sign on to the settlement.
